Flemish Fruits: March 2024

I photographed many things either shattered or shatter-prone during my trip to Antwerp without realising. Was I preoccupied by a particular vulnerability when hiding behind thick glass surfaces, if not calling attention to a compromised outer shell by photographing smashed ones? Although I felt buffeted by the winter climate, the balance of resilience and softness within me at the moment feels right. I discovered a new fruit in Antwerp: the Grenadilla. The seeds are like perfumed passionfruit without the tang, and its inner flesh is a creamy alien anemone.
